First Open Call: The 12 selected artists

Between February 16th and March 17th, 2024, Comics Beyond launched the first open call aimed at professional artists to select the best 12 portfolios from all the European candidates who participated.
Comics Beyond is pleased to announce that the first initiative was a great success, with more than a hundred applications, making it very challenging to reward only 12 people.
Here are the selected candidates who will attend a training week in Amadora, Portugal, in July:

Comics Beyond would like to express sincere thanks to every participant, candidate and to all partners who have contributed to the realization of the project.
Finally, the organization would like to remind the forthcoming launch of a second open call and invites all European artists to stay tuned for further updates, which will be published on the official website.

The main point of the network that Comics Beyond plans to pursue is the communication and promotion of comic art based projects, as well as fostering links between transdisciplinary European comics projects and artists.
