OPEN CALL FOR TRAINING WEEK 2024

The project «Comics Beyond» (2023-2026) is opening a Training Week for 12 comic artists in Amadora, Lisbon, Portugal with the partnership of Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée (Belgium), On a Marché sur la Bulle (France),VISIONA Società Cooperativa a r.l./Comicon Napoli (Italy) and Amadora BD Festival (Portugal) -in association with Escola Joso (Spain), Lakes International Comic Arts Festival (United Kingdom), Art Bubble Festival (Denmark).

The main purpose of this camp is to help European comic artists acquire knowledge and professional assets by organizing a week of training to develop new skills, such as: entrepreneurship, creation of comic and music shows, videogames or collaborating with museums, etc.

Moreover, this Training Week will take place in Amadora Municipality (Portugal), and it will last for 6 days (1st to 6th July 2024). During this week, we aim to stimulate and provide skills in the following areas: contracts, administration, creation, negotiation, and other creative areas. All the activities will focus on three main subjects: museum, games, and music.

To apply for this Training Week, please see the dedicated call linked below and present a digital portfolio (pdf) of between 10 and 20 sheets, including the following content:

• Projects, independently or corporate;
• Published work, namely books and/or fanzines;
• Digital overview of the artistic style with examples of original artwork;
• Motivation letter.
